City of Albany: All-Electric Neighborhoods Pilot Project
Community Engagement for a Clean Energy Transition
E/J Solutions is working with the City of Albany on a pioneering clean energy project.

Project Background
The City of Albany is launching a building electrification and gas line decommissioning pilot project that seeks to transition an entire city block to 100% electric power. This project, one of the first of its kind in the nation, will help the City learn best practices for total electrification, identify obstacles, and consolidate effective policies and tools.
E/J Solutions’ Role
We’ll be conducting intensive community outreach and education on selected blocks within Albany with the aim of identifying at least one city block that is willing to electrify 100% of its homes and businesses. We’ll be compiling a toolkit of data, best practices, and policies that other jurisdictions can use to conduct successful efforts in their areas.
Why This Work is Important
We have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through community outreach and education on an ambitious initiative that has the potential to improve indoor air quality, increase energy efficiency, and reduce safety risks associated with gas lines.
